This is my 1/48 Sikorsky SH-3H Sea King (Hasegawa kit). I remember these helicopters when they were in service in the 80s. Since I was a wee lad I have been a military aviation nut and to this day one of my favorite movies of all time is The Final Countdown. I wanted to recreate the Sea King from that movie. I was able to find the decals for the squadron (HS-9 Sea Griffins) but not the specific tail number – which is cool with me. The build was a challenge but went together well. The only issue was that the main rotor fit is kind of wonky. Either way, I’m really happy with the way this turned out. I used all Mr. Color lacquer paints with the exception of a few details with Model Master. Thanks for looking!
